Santosh Kumar Sarraf & Son
175 Years of Trust, Eight Generations of Craft
A family jewellery house in Hapur, trading since 1850
An Unbroken Lineage
Our Historic Scrapbook
The First Ledger
Our oldest records trace the history of Santosh Kumar Sarraf & Son back to 1850 when the family started a small jewellery business. While the name of the earliest founder has slipped the history pages, generation after generation has upheld our customer's trust as our biggest legacy.
"For more than 175 years, we have believed that our customers don't just buy our ornaments, they place their valuable trust in us. That trust is the family's greatest inheritance."

A Name Built On Trust
Shri Laxmichand Sarraf took the business forward and was succeeded by Shri Durgadas Sarraf. Later, his son, Shri Devisahay Sarraf, expanded the business. Family values dictated that he chose patriotism over the British offer, promising land and other privileges in exchange of support. Building on his father's efforts, Shri Rajaram Sarraf soon made the store a household name in western Uttar Pradesh, and "D.R." -- Devisahay Rajaram -- became synonymous with jewellery of exceptional purity in no time.
"Even today, customers walk into the showroom carrying ornaments their parents or grandparents bought 55-60 years ago. One glance at the old D.R. mark is often all it takes to know: the gold will be pure."

The Man Behind The Name
Our business is proudly named after Shri Santosh Kumar Sarraf, whose vision transformed the family enterprise into one of Uttar Pradesh's most respected jewellery houses. Beyond business, he devoted himself to religious, educational, and charitable institutions -- serving in leadership roles at Sanatan Dharma Sabha, S.S.V. Inter College, and Arya Kanya Pathshala, where he championed women's education.
"During those years, the family had the privilege of welcoming several distinguished visitors to Hapur, including Shri Rajnath Singh, the current Honourable Defence Minister of India."

Carrying Forward The Legacy
Relocating from its iconic store in Kaserath Bazaar, in 2002, our jewellery found its new home in the City Plaza. The family enterprise is now spearheaded by Mr. Prashant Kumar Agarwal. Having worked at the store from just 16 years of age, Prashant Kumar has devoted his life to bringing high-quality, top-end ornaments to Hapur residents. He was one of the first jewellers to introduce BIS Hallmarked jewellery in Hapur and did so years before that hallmark was made mandatory. Santosh Kumar Sarraf & Son was also the first jeweller to bring certified diamonds to Hapur.
"For many families in Hapur, their first experience of fine diamond jewellery began at Santosh Kumar Sarraf & Son."

The Eighth Generation
Under Mr. Prashant Kumar Agarwal's guidance, the new generation is set to take the jewellery brand to new heights. Mr. Varun Agarwal brings years of experience in marketing and jewellery design, while Mr. Parth Agarwal is trained in gemology and specialises in sourcing and product development. Together, they have introduced several modern technologies to help customers verify purity with greater transparency and confidence. Over the years, the family business has also expanded to real estate, hospitality, and healthcare manufacturing. Their core values, however, remain the same: integrity, quality and trust.
"Many of our customers are the fourth and fifth generation in their families to use our services -- a privilege no advertisement can buy. It can only be earned."

Good to Know
Common Questions
When buying wedding jewelry, focus first on establishing key statement pieces (like chokers) and ensure they are balanced by traditional chandelier earrings. Opt for modular settings with interchangeable link screws that allow full suites to split into smaller, wearable subsets. Finally, verify that all gold is certified under government-mandated BIS Hallmarks with a traceable 6-digit HUID code.
